This is a really great specimen of Royal Imperial Jasper! Nicely formed bands around the center "egg" of the crystal. Excellent gift for someone who doesn't usually wear jewelry.

Royal Imperial Jasper is mined from a different location than Imperial Jasper. Royal Imperial Jasper comes out of its own little canyon that lies east of the Imperial Jasper deposits, a little east. Royal Imperial Jasper formed as nodes or nodules so that when it is sliced open, the nodules appears like egg patterns in the slice. As with eggs, the egg pattern is usually a lighter pastel.
