Carved boxwood bead of Quan Yin inspired by the antique Japanese Ojime. Pretty face with closed eyes resting on a wave. The back of her head is an open lotus. This bead measure 21mm wide by 33.5mm tall. It is drilled vertically through the center. This boxwood bead has a very light stain so that it has a light beige color. Both sides of the bead are shown, but this item is for one bead.
Ojime are the sliding beads on the cord of the Inro Box. Geishas carried an Inro Box to hold their money and personal necessities. An Ojime bead is a Japanese bead or geisha bead that was used with an inro box and a netsuke bead.
