Hand-carved boxwood bead inspired by the antique Japanese Ojime. Ojime are the sliding beads on the cord of the Inro Box. Geishas carried an Inro Box to hold their money and personal necessities.
This Ojime bead was hand-carved by a contemporary Chinese Master-Carver (not a child), who took up to as long as four hours to make it. It is 23mm high (.9 in) by 24mm wide (9.94 in) with a 1mm (.04 in) hole vertically-drilled through the center passing through the tail fine and the torso).
This is an unbelievable value for such craftsmanship.
