Japanese Akoya Cultured Saltwater White Pearl
Saltwater Pearl metaphysical properties:
Authentic Japanese Akoya Cultured Saltwater White Pearl that has not been irradiated or dyed. All pearls entering the U.S. are required by law to be bleached, but this pearl has received only the minimal non-chemical bleaching so it has retained more of its nacre coating (the pearly substance the oyster secretes around the irritant that forms the pearl). Nacre thickness is critical in cultured saltwater pearls as it creates the pearl's beauty and durability.
This pearl does not meet the standards for perfection in shape, color and surface quality, so it did not receive numerous bleachings to make it bright white. "Perfect" pearls are chemically bleached to make the color more consistent. A lot of time the bleaching is done incorrectly and softens the nacre. Then the cosmetically-perfect pearl is buffed with wax or chemicals. The wax treatment soon wears off and the chemical used in the buffing further serves to reduce the nacre. Cosmetically-perfect pearls may also be dyed to give them the more desirable pink overtone.
Edgar Cayce, the sleeping prophet, said pearls activate purity, strengthen the body, and stimulate creativity.
A pearl elevates the third chakra from animal instinct into intuition and sensitivity.
The pearl is associated with the moon for two reasons. One, because of appearance in that the pearl looks like the full moon. Two, because the oysters are attuned to the cycles of the Moon.
Placing your pearl in an unmarked glass of pure water in the noon sun for a couple of hours creates the most powerful gem elixir for emotional healing.
Wearing, carrying or ingesting white saltwater pearls draw you into the mystical side of life, enhancing your clairvoyance, intuition, introspection and psychic abilities.
