This is for one bead even though two beads are shown in the photo.  I just wanted you to be able to see the face and the side of the bead at the same time.

This Sandalwood Quan Yin or Kwan Yin bead was hand-carved and was inspired by the antique Japanese Ojime Foo Dog beads.  The face is on one side only.  The back is the back of the head with the veil covering the hair.  Still, I would not call this a two sided bead.

Ojime beads are the sliding beads on the cord of the Inro Box.  Geishas carried an Inro Box to hold their money and personal necessities.  An Ojime bead is a Japanese bead or geisha bead that was used with an inro box and a netsuke bead.

This Ojime bead was carved by a contemporary Chinese master-Carver (not a child) who took up to as long as four hours to make it.

This Kwan Yin bead is 29.7mm wide (0.81 inch wide) and 35mm high (1.37 inch high) and is mean't to be strung by the 1.7mm hole in the design that is a curved hold at the top of the head.

Really pretty face on this bead.  This is an unbelievable value for such craftsmanship.
