This hand carved button from boxwood was inspired by antique Japanese ojime beads. Ojime are the sliding bead on the cord of the inro box worn by a geisha. Contemporary Chinese master carvers take up to four hours to make just one ojime button. These buttons are also known as Japanese buttons or Chinese buttons.
The dragon button measures 31mm by 27mm by 21mm.
