Pretty slice of an Oco Agate geode with bits of druzy that is held by four prongs on a handmade paisley shape sterling silver wire frame. It has a loop on each of the top for securing the silver chain. It also has a loop at the bottom. A one inch length of chain hangs from that loop with an attached silver capped natural clear quartz point. The chain has a lobster closure with a 1.88 inch remainder chain to lengthen the chain if desired.
Oco Agate is excavated as small geodes from a region of Brazil called Tres Pinheiros. The geodes are hollow and lined with druzy.
The Oco Agate druzy slice measures 0.88 inch wide by 1.4 inches long. It is a lovely latte color. The exposed part of the clear quartz point measures 0.58 inch wide by 1.48 inches long. The 22 inch box link chain is not solid silver, it has been silver plated, as has the cap on the quartz point.
Druzy stone is also known as drusy or druse in geology. Druzy is the layer of fine crystal points that line the inside of a geode as we have here or the surface of where a rock was naturally fractured, such as in an earthquake, or a vug, which is a space inside a rock.
