This listing is just for the crystal earrings.  I included photos of the thunderbird pendant and totem pole for reference.

Each thunderbird earring measures 7/8 inch wide by 1 inch and measures 1.92 inches long from the top of the ear wire.  Hand-carved clear quartz crystal.  Each earring is unique.  These quartz earrings make a great addition to your thunderbird jewelry collection.

Clear Quartz meaning:

Clear Quartz crystal is the Earth's gift.  It is the most common crystal and one of the most useful.  It lessens negativity, it raises your consciousness, and increases your psychic ability.  It is an amplifier.  It should be abundantly present in sacred spaces, near supplements, and during meditation and healing. Clear quartz is pure yin: it restores the High Priestess archetype.  It is without ego and therefore brings ego and egos into balance.

Clear Quartz properties:

It enables pure vision.  Great for issues pertaining to gastro-intestinal, circulation, lymph, nerves and pineal gland.  Helps detox in a way that fat is released.

The Thunderbird

It has long been assumed that the Thunderbird was a Native American mythological creature.  Then in April 1890, a couple of ranchers discovered and killed a giant bird that they described as a winged monster.  The men nailed it to the side of a barn.  They said that its head was 8 feet long and that it has strong, sharp teeth inside its beak, like an alligator's jaw and teeth.  The wings were enormous and were thick and nearly transparent membrane.  This was all according to an article published in a paper called the Tombstone Epitaph on April 26, 1890.  The wingspan was about 160 feet.  And maybe the paper was looking to stir something up with such a story.

Loren Coleman, a psychiatrist and cryptozoologist, who has written over 40 books and is considered a reputable monster hunter, reported that there were a number of thunderbird discoveries in thee 1940s.  There were three different people in Overland, Illinois who thought they saw a plane flying overhead and then realized the wings were flapping.  This was on April 10th, 1948.  Several weeks later in Alton, Illinois, another sighting occurred.  A man was with his son and they reported seeing an enormous bird sort of creature that had a body that was in the shape of a torpedo.  It was flying about 500 feet above them and its shadow appeared as a small plane.

Then people in St. Louis, MO saw the bird creature and became frightened enough to write to their city major and demand that St. Louis do something to protect the residents from being attacked by these flying giants.  The major, Aloys Kaufmann, told his assistant to set a trap to cat one.  They ended up seeing tracks left by a blue heron and decided that the heron is what everyone had seen.

Another sighting happened on July 25th, 1977 when three boys got chased by a couple of giant bird when they were playing in the backyard.  Two of the boys ran to safety, but one of them, ten year old Marlon Lowe, was picked up by one of the birds.  The bird grabbed the boy's shoulders with its talons and got him about two feet off the ground for a way until it let Marlon go because the boy was fighting so much.

It seems that the Andean Condor matches the description given from these sightings except that an Andean Condor would not have the strength to life a ten year old boy.

More sightings happened in the 1990s and larger tracks were discovered.  Same kind of sighting was also reported in 2002 by The Anchorage Daily News.  Witnesses said it was like a creature out of the Jurassic Park.  And there was another sighting in San Antonio, Texas in 2007.
