Natural Kunzite pendant.  The pear shape cabochon measuring 17.5mm wide at widest point by 28.5mm long is set in sterling silver.   The pendant measures an inch and a half long from the top of the bail.

Kunzite meaning:

Charles Baskerville gave this lilac crystal its name in honor of George Frederick Kunz, who first described it in 1903 as a type of spodumene.  Kunz, who was VP of Tiffany and Co., was also a mineralogist, gemologist, author and editor.  I believe Kunz found it in San Diego, CA.

Other types of spodumenes are hiddenite and pegmatite.  Both Kunzite and Hiddenite are found in lithium-rich Pegmatites.  The word spodumene is Greek in origin and means reduced to ashes as this minerals turns into a pile of gray ask when set on fire.

Kunzite properties:

Kunzite helps us to see and feel how there is perfection in who we are right now because who we are now and where we are on our path is what our soul intended.

Surprisingly, for such a tender shade of lavender, Kunzite actually caries a lot of Aries kind of energy.  That is because there is great power in self-acceptance and being present in the current moment: the now!

There is an enhancement of order and systematic, logical thinking and the joy of starting new projects.  Also new romance and vacations.
