Royal Imperial Jasper is mined from a different location than Imperial Jasper. Royal Imperial Jasper comes out of its own little canyon that lies east of the Imperial Jasper deposits, a little east. Royal Imperial Jasper formed as nodes or nodules so that when it is sliced open, the nodules appears like egg patterns in the slice.
Imperial Jasper is one of the five fine jaspers along with Bruneau, Morrisonite, Wilowcreek and Blue Mountain.
